WHITE CROSS: Fascist 7" (Black Vinyl)

About this release
A top-tier USHC classic from Richmond, Virginia -- finally reissued properly by Beach Impediment Records. The Fascist EP (1982) is one of the great lost documents of American hardcore's first wave. Recorded in a single October night in the studios of Union Theological Seminary, White Cross laid down 8 urgent, furious tracks clocking in at just over 5 minutes -- frantic, fast and ugly hardcore punk that spread internationally through Maximum Rock and Roll and cemented the band's place in hardcore history. Formed from the ashes of Richmond's Red Cross by guitarist Mikey Rodriguez, who recruited Crispy Cranmer (formerly of Gasse 32) on vocals, White Cross were part of a regional explosion that Rodriguez had helped ignite through his earlier service in Mod Subs and Red Cross. This Beach Impediment reissue has been remastered by Chris Corry and comes fully loaded: a stunningly accurate reproduction sleeve featuring a never-before-seen band photo from when White Cross opened for The Exploited, an insert with the long-lost lyrics accompanied by flyers and era imagery, a duplicate of the original sticker, and -- crucially -- the original center label design that United refused to print due to excessive profanity. The complete package. |
