CHAT PILE: God's Country Vinyl LP

God's Country is the staggering, deeply unsettling 2022 debut full-length from Oklahoma City's Chat Pile. An immediate landmark in modern heavy music, the album is a grim, suffocating exploration of American nihilism, homelessness, and industrial decay. Driven by a massive, abrasive bass tone and Raygun Busch's visceral, unhinged vocal delivery, the record captures a unique sense of dread that feels both personal and societal. Tracks like "Slaughterhouse" and the harrowing "Why" have quickly become modern anthems of noise rock and sludge. Released via the taste-making Flenser label, this is a mandatory record for anyone tracking the most potent and terrifying developments in the contemporary underground.
