Converge is a band featuring vocalist and lyricist Jacob Bannon, drummer Ben Koller, guitarist Kurt Ballou, and bassist Nate Newton. Hum of Hurt is the band's second full-length release of 2026, following the album Love Is Not Enough. The record utilizes hardcore and noise rock styles. The album was recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City in Salem, Massachusetts, with engineering assistance from Zach Weeks. The album artwork was created through a collaboration between Jacob Bannon and Thomas Hooper. Physical formats include a Fire and Brimstone vinyl variation featuring a mixed-media layout in the interior.
