About this release

The UK anarcho-punk collective's career-spanning singles compilation.

Best Before 1984 gathers Crass's 7-inch singles and EP material into a single double-LP set -- a useful primer on a band whose DIY ethos, anti-authoritarian politics, and collectivist approach to making and distributing music shaped the entire anarcho-punk movement that followed. Confrontational, deliberately anti-commercial, and absolutely uncompromising throughout.
