D.O.A.: Hardcore '81 Vinyl LP

$54.95 AUD

The album that named a genre.

Hardcore '81 is D.O.A.'s second full-length and the record that pushed the word hardcore into the common vocabulary of punk. Recorded in Vancouver in 1981 with the classic lineup of Joey Shithead Keithley, Dave Gregg, Randy Rampage, and Chuck Biscuits, it's faster, tighter, and more focused than its predecessor -- the sound of a band who had spent two years touring relentlessly and came back to the studio knowing exactly what they wanted. Politically sharp, technically precise, and utterly without filler. Black Flag and the Dead Kennedys were doing their thing on the coasts; D.O.A. were doing it from Vancouver and, with this record, staking out their own distinct corner of what the underground was becoming.

Fans may like: Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Circle Jerks, The Subhumans (Canada), Adolescents, D.O.A. Something Better Change.

Release Information: Originally released 1981 on Friends Records. Remastered reissue on Sudden Death Records, 2011. 40th Anniversary repress 2021.
