DEAD MOON: Defiance Vinyl LP

Dead Moon's third album -- bursting into the 90s with raw, primordial rock that remained defiantly underground while some fellow Pacific Northwest acts were about to be flung headfirst into the mainstream.

Fred and Toody Cole's Dead Moon were the real deal -- self-recorded, self-released, fiercely DIY, and utterly uncompromising throughout their career. Defiance (1990) arrived at exactly the moment when the Pacific Northwest underground was about to explode commercially, and Dead Moon responded by doubling down on everything that made them essential: Toody's bass, Fred's guitar and gravelled vocals, Andrew Loomis's drumming, and a sound that owed more to '60s garage and proto-punk than anything fashionable at the time. Artwork by Kelly Manahan. Remastered from the original tapes.
