DEAD: THE LAUGHING SHADOW Vinyl LP

The Laughing Shadow is the 2022 album from the uncompromising Australian bass-and-drums duo DEAD. Dubbed their "lockdown album," this LP is a deeply meditative, yet often crushing, instrumental journey into Doom Metal, Sludge, and avant-garde Art Rock. Recorded with producer Mike Deslandes, the album features expansive, heavily distorted, and dynamically fluid soundscapes, augmented by guest saxophone from Jenny Divers. The record moves between foreboding, minimalist drone and chaotic bursts of noise, showcasing the duo's 15 years of experience in crafting compelling, anti-formula extreme music.
