DESCENDENTS: I Don't Want To Grow Up Vinyl LP

$54.95 AUD

The Descendents' second album and the record where they found their full voice.

I Don't Want To Grow Up (1985) arrived three years after Milo Goes To College, following Milo Aukerman's return from university and the arrival of guitarist Ray Cooper. Where the debut was raw and velocity-driven, this one leans harder into melody -- bigger hooks, brighter tones, and a songwriting range that stretched from caffeinated pop-punk to something approaching genuine tenderness. The speed is still there when they want it, but the band had learned to use space. Every generation of melodic hardcore and pop-punk owes something to this record.

Originally released on New Alliance Records, the label run by D. Boon and Mike Watt of the Minutemen. Reissued for its 40th anniversary in 2025 via Org Music, remastered directly from the band's reclaimed master recordings.
