Recorded at CBS Studios in New Bond Street in 1968 by Mike Ross — the same engineer who the previous year recorded The Jimi Hendrix Experience's Are You Experienced? — this album was captured live in the studio, straight to stereo with no overdubs or post-mixing. The original Blue Horizon LP was issued in mono despite the master tapes being stereo; this Pure Pleasure reissue corrects that.

Peter Green plays at his impeccable best behind Eddie Boyd's solid piano and vocals. Essential for fans of the British blues scene and early Fleetwood Mac.
