METALLICA: Metallica Vinyl LP

$64.95 AUD

The record that made Metallica the biggest metal band in the world.

Metallica (1991) -- universally known as the Black Album -- is the band's fifth studio album and their most commercially successful by a significant margin. Produced by Bob Rock, it marked a deliberate shift from the thrash complexity of the previous four records toward heavier, slower, and more accessible songwriting. The riffs are still enormous but they breathe more; the tempos drop; Hetfield's vocals are pushed front and centre. Enter Sandman, The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters, Wherever I May Roam, and Sad But True all arrived as singles and became permanent fixtures of rock radio. The album spent four years on the Billboard 200 and has sold upwards of 30 million copies worldwide. Divisive among fans at the time; impossible to argue with in retrospect.
