About this item
Orstralia: A History of Australian Punk 1976-1992 is the first definitive book to document the history of Australian punk rock from the mid-1970s through the 1990s. Author Tristan Clark, a long-time punk scene veteran, explores how Australian youth, far from the genre's origins, created a vibrant and often-brutal punk culture. Based on over 130 interviews, the book covers everything from influential progenitors like The Saints and Radio Birdman to more obscure bands, detailing the personal stories and violent confrontations with police and authority figures that defined the movement. It provides an unprecedented look at a significant but underacknowledged part of Australian social and cultural history. Product Title Author |
