PHANTOM FRUIT: Diamonded, Bloodied, Jesus Cassette

From the California Central Valley emerges Phantom Fruit, a dark jazz psychedelia collection that defies easy categorization. Their EP, Diamonded, Bloodied, Jesus, channels a myriad of influences, from post-punk to shoegaze, while carving out a unique sound. Inspired by Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit," the record shifts its focus to the modern-day plight of those attempting to cross into the U.S. from Mexico, serving as a raw homage to ancestral bloodlines and a memorial to lives and histories lost. Composed of family and chosen family, the band's deep personal bond is the bedrock of this powerful artistic statement, dedicated to the memory of J.A. Pelayo?s younger brother, Danny.
