A long-lost posthumous release of early Richmond, Virginia hardcore -- 40+ years in obscurity, finally remastered from the original reel.

Not the LA band. This is Richmond, VA's Red Cross -- formed in 1981 by the illustrious Mike Rodriguez alongside Frank Gresham, Scott Price and Alford Faulknier following the implosions of local punk groups Mod Subs and Disrupters. Their mission was simple: hardcore punk adhering to the motto of "LOUD FAST RULES." In early 1982 they entered Studio 2 at Union Theological Seminary under cover of night to record 12 tracks intended as their debut 12". Then they broke up -- leading almost immediately to the formation of Richmond legends White Cross, Mikey Rod carrying the torch forward.

The recording sat in limbo until vocalist Frank Gresham pressed somewhere between 50-100 cassettes and distributed them among a small circle of friends, then moved to NYC. For 40+ years the tape was little more than legend among Richmond hardcore enthusiasts. Beach Impediment now presents this long-lost document remastered from the original reel, with a 16-page booklet featuring extensive liner notes by surviving members Frank Gresham and Scott Price, plus archival imagery documenting their brief but impactful existence.
