About this release
Go back to the very beginning of the stoner/doom metal sound with Sleep's crushing 1991 debut, Volume One! Before the epic Dopesmoker and Holy Mountain, this essential album showcases a darker, rawer sound and heavier doom influence?a true key artifact of the genre. Featuring massive, riff-laden tracks like "The Suffering" and "Anguish," this is where Al Cisneros, Matt Pike, and Chris Haikus first forged their signature sound. It's an indispensable piece of metal history for any serious doom devotee! Track List:
