THE RATS: The Rats Vinyl LP (Black)

Fred and Toody Cole's first record together -- a primitive punk masterpiece and ground zero for Portland punk, remastered but still gloriously lo-fi.

Before Dead Moon, before Pierced Arrows, before The Range Rats, there was The Rats -- the project where Fred and Toody Cole first made music together. This self-titled album is the perfect mix of sophisticated songwriting and the rawest rock imaginable: a document of two artists at the very beginning of one of the great partnerships in American underground music. Mississippi Records' reissue brings it back into circulation for a new generation of listeners discovering the Cole catalog.
